Clients retain responsibility for their business decisions, the accuracy of information they supply, and activities specifically excluded from their engagement agreements.

When BAS performs administrative services on behalf of client organizations, the respective client organization remains responsible for ensuring that BAS is appropriately authorized to access relevant records, communicate with individuals, and carry out assigned responsibilities.

BAS may request additional documentation, permissions, or authorization before performing certain activities.

5. Electronic Communications

Communications may concern scheduling, administrative coordination, accounting matters, billing, operational inquiries, documentation, and general business support.

BAS may communicate on behalf of a client organization when authorized under an applicable service arrangement. Such communications do not automatically establish a separate professional-services relationship between BAS and the recipient.

6. SMS/Text Messaging Terms and Conditions

6.1 SMS Program Description

Balanced Accounting Services uses SMS messaging to facilitate two-way, conversational communications associated with its professional services and outsourced administrative operations.

Messages may be exchanged between BAS representatives and individuals who have appropriately consented to SMS communications, including:

  • Business clients and their authorized representatives

  • Prospective clients requesting information or assistance

  • Employees and staff of client organizations

  • Individuals receiving services from client organizations, where BAS is authorized to communicate with them

  • Other individuals participating in authorized business and administrative communications

Messaging may include appointment scheduling, administrative coordination, document requests, billing and payment inquiries, staff coordination, customer support, service-related questions, operational updates, and responses to inquiries.

Both BAS and authorized message recipients may initiate and participate in ongoing conversations.

6.2 Consent to Receive SMS

By voluntarily opting in to BAS SMS communications through an applicable consent process, you authorize BAS to send text messages to the mobile number provided for the disclosed business and administrative purposes.

Consent may be collected through written or electronic authorization, website forms, documented verbal permission, or an individual initiating an SMS conversation, as appropriate to the circumstances and applicable requirements.

When BAS communicates on behalf of another organization, the appropriate authorization and SMS consent must be established before BAS initiates messages.

Providing a phone number to an unrelated third party does not automatically constitute consent to receive messages from BAS.

Consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of purchasing BAS services.

6.3 Message Frequency

Message frequency varies according to individual inquiries, ongoing conversations, scheduling needs, and business activities.

BAS does not establish a fixed number of messages because communications are primarily conversational and responsive to operational needs.

6.4 Message and Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and service plan.

BAS is not responsible for fees assessed by your wireless carrier for sending or receiving text messages.

6.5 Opting Out

You may opt out of BAS SMS communications at any time by replying STOP to a message received from BAS.

After opting out, you will receive a confirmation message where supported, and BAS will discontinue SMS communications to that number for the applicable messaging program, except as permitted or required by law.

You may request to resume SMS communications through an appropriate opt-in process.

BAS does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free SMS delivery.

6.8 Privacy and Confidentiality

BAS respects the privacy and confidentiality of information exchanged through its communication systems.

SMS is not always an appropriate channel for sensitive personal, medical, financial, or confidential information. BAS may direct recipients to a more secure communication method when necessary.

Refunds, cancellations, and service termination provisions are governed by the applicable service agreement.

Confidential information may include financial records, employee information, business operations data, client records, and other nonpublic information.
